Sarasota Fishing Report, March Forecast SW Florida
| March Forecast SW Florida |
Well folks I sure hope this weather breaks soon. The water temp is 15 degrees lower than it should be.I think the fish will be very hungry when it warms up.When we did get out in February the fishing was great. The bait migrations are starting now.The last few trips we caught Spanish sardines and Cigar minnows. The pelagics are usually not far behind them.Blackfin tuna,Sailfish,Kings and Cobia are just to name a few.Schools of big Redfish are always a possibility. They will start their migration back to the warm waters of Lemon bay and Charlotte harbor.Huge Mangrove snapper will start staging on all the structure as they prepare for summer spawning. That makes them real hungry this time of year.Fishing ledges and reefs should produce.Keep a large shrimp free lined or crab if you can find one.The Permit showed up in mid march last year so be ready.Good Fishing |
